Organization: The Royal - Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre - Geriatric Program

Description of Services: Assessment and active treatment of patients aged 65 and over who are experiencing mental health problems * services provided by a multidisciplinary team * all persons referred will be seen in consultation first and then, depending on assessment of needs, the program will provide a consultation only or admission to one of its services as clinically indicated

Psychiatric services: Outpatient clinic * day hospital * inpatient unit * consultative outreach service to most long-term care facilities

Fees: Set fees * Covered by the Ontario Health Card
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: People 65 years and older who experience mental health problems
Application: Referrals must be made by a physician or a community psychiatrist * contact Intake Secretary for a list of long-term care facilities visited by outreach consultative team
