Program: Court Diversion and Support

Organization: Canadian Mental Health Association - Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Branch
Description of Services: Provides services to persons living with a serious and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis (intellectual disability and mental health issues) or concurrent disorder who are in conflict with the criminal justice system.

Services provided include:
  • Pre-charge diversion
  • Post-charge diversion
  • Release from custody
  • Shor term case Management

Case managers may assist consumers through referrals, advocacy, appointments, housing needs and securing appropriate benefits. This program does not provide legal advice.

Fees: Free
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: The Court Diversion service is available to individuals, 16 years of age and older, with a serious mental illness/dual diagnosis or brain injury, who are in conflict with the law.
Application: Anyone can refer - i.e. self, family, friend, other agency, criminal court, etc.
