Services include: Food Premise Inspections - routine inspections of all food premises in accordance with the Food Premises Regulation and the Health Protection and Promotion Act * Public Health Inspectors follow up on all reports of foodborne illness, complaints regarding food safety issues food recalls and food safety issues related to emergencies such as floods, fires and power outages Food Certification Courses - for food handlers to ensure that they understand the importance of safe food preparation and handling, as well as their responsibilities as designated under legislation Food Safety Information - available to the public in each health unit office, and on the website |
